Gorillas

Adult male gorillas are called Silverbacks. They are strong, dominant leaders who make all the decisions, aggressively settle internal disagreements and, without consultation, determine the movements and feeding habits of their group. Executive Coaching

Senior managers and directors are all too often overlooked when it comes to development. Yet even small improvements in their performance can have a major impact on your organisation's results.

Often, other initiatives just don't hit the spot with them - too long, level not right, content too broad, difficulties with mixing management levels, etc.

Executive coaching, however, provides a highly effective approach to improving senior performance. Its flexibility and individual focus respond to the needs of people for whom time is critical.

Our Approach

Our experienced consultants work confidentially with your senior players. Assisting them in identifying and addressing their individual development needs.

We facilitate open discussion and provide objective, informed feedback and advice. Enabling issues to be talked through, options explored and solutions and actions agreed.

Each coaching meeting generally lasts for up to two hours. The nature and length of our involvement are dependent upon individual requirements. Ranging from a single meeting, perhaps to assist with preparation for an important presentation, to a longer term development relationship where, over time, in depth exploration of topics can take place.

Typically, we work with managers for a series of six consecutive meetings. With a couple of weeks in between each meeting. This enables them to consider and work on actions agreed. Each subsequent meeting begins with a review of progress and agreement on the objectives for the current discussion.

Where appropriate, we use psychometric profiling and 360° Feedback. Extremely powerful ways of increasing awareness of own style, strengths, approach, interaction with others and development opportunities.

It is often useful to be in contact between meetings, for example, to talk through a "live" issue or receive a nudge about doing whatever has been agreed. Whatever is appropriate, we will arrange.
